Grant Making Process

The Nevada Women's Philanthropy (NWP) awards one large grant annually. The amount of the grant varies by the size of our membership, but is has been approximately $350,000 historically. The Outreach Committee holds an annual symposium, open to all local nonprofit agencies, to describe the NWP grant process and offer an opportunity for agencies to ask questions about the grant. The Grant Screening Committee, which is made up of roughly 20 to 30 members, conducts the bulk of the review process and recommends the two finalists to the full membership.

The NWP considers applicants in the areas of arts, education, environment, health, child welfare, and social services. Grants may be requested for capital funds and program funds. Applicant organizations must be 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt, public charity organizations that do not discriminate or proselytize, have at least four years of experience working in Southern Nevada, and that have not received the NWP award in the past seven grant cycles or the Founders' Gift in the last grant cycle.
